General Application Guidelines

DRY
RATE FOR SOIL APPLICATION:
Soil Banded or Side Dressed Field Crops: 75+lb/acre oil Banded or Side Dressed Tree or Vine Crops: 150+lb/acre
Soil Broadcast Incorporated Field Crops: 150+lb/acre
Soil Banded Incorporated Tree or Vine Crops: 300+lb/acre
Rate for smaller areas: 2-7lb per 1000sq.ft. depending on quality of compost soils
RATE FOR TOPDRESSING LAWNS OR GARDENS:
Rate: 2–7 lbs per 1,000 sq ft.
METHOD FOR SPREADING:
Broadcast by hand or spreader.
Spinner spreaders (broadcast spreaders) are best for larger areas.
Mix into the top 2–4 inches of soil if possible, especially before planting.
Water in after application to activate microbial processes.
TIME OF WHICH TO APPLY:
Apply in spring or fall.
RATE FOR TREE AND SHRUB TREATMENT:
1–2 cups around the dripline of each tree/shrub.
METHOD FOR SPREADING:
Rake lightly into the soil and water deeply.
TIME OF WHICH TO APPLY:
Early spring (to boost early root growth).
Late fall (to improve overwintering conditions and build soil for next season).
During transplanting or establishment phases.

Apply on a calm (not windy) day
Apply before planting or at the end of the season to build long-term soil fertility.
